ODM still has a hectic time in choosing a gubernatorial candidate in Homa Bay if the latest opinion poll result is anything to go by. 11 people, including eight police officers and a local chief, were on November 24 killed by cattle rustlers in Turkana East. We are dismayed that more than 95 per of the results in the list are true in line with the election results,” Agwanda said. Owino said election officials ignored many polling stations in announcing the results. This comes after a hotly-contested election that pit the two vocal leaders against each other, with Wanga rising from the immediate former woman representative to governor. All of the above members of parliament were elected on ODM party tickets led by the former prime minister, The Right Honourable Raila Amollo Odinga.

Currently, tallying of votes from polling stations is still going on at constituency tallying centres. Gladys Wanga is the current governor after being elected in the 2022 general elections that took place in August 9. Moses Otieno Kajwang’ is the senator and was elected in 2015 in a by election due to the death of his brother, Gerald Otieno Kajwang.
